Oil pump gears

A special micro assembly oil pump requires an effective seal between the outside of the drive cog and the surface of the housing. A maximum gap of 11 thousandths of a millimetre is allowed to prevent oil leakage between cog and housing. The housing, using cnc precision engineering, is therefore machined to within 5 thousandths and the cog faces are ground to within 6 thousands of a millimetre , or 6 microns. The cog rotate at rpm without noise.
